Addressing Periodontal Disease

What is Periodontal Disease?

Periodontal disease is an infection and inflammatory condition of the gums and supporting tissues around the teeth, most often caused by harmful bacterial buildup along and below the gumline. Over time, this can lead to bleeding, swelling, gum recession, bone loss, and eventually tooth loss if left untreated.

Prevention

Prevention starts with consistent:

  • Brushing

  • Flossing

  • Professional cleanings

  • Regular monitoring of gum health.

Treatment

When periodontal disease is present, treatment may include:

  • Professional cleaning below the gumline along with additional therapies.

  • Custom-made periodontal trays that deliver a hydrogen peroxide–based gel gently under the gums, helping reduce harmful bacteria in areas that are difficult to reach with brushing and flossing alone. These trays are used as an adjunct to professional periodontal care and an ongoing home-care routine.

" We saw a lot of crowding and assumed braces were the only way to go, we had two or three consultations and most of them wanted to pull teeth before braces, my mother bear instinct didn't want that to happen his teeth were healthy there was no reason to pull them out....we didn't need to pull anything! "

Al Borromeo ( Dentist)

" Dentists need to know that there are other options out there as opposed to pulling teeth."

Grateful Patient

" My smile is so much wider and I have more definition in my jaw line that others are noticing, but most importantly my daily headaches are gone because my jaw is relaxed!"
